Xbox 360 has strange colors when connected to new HDTV?

When I plug my Xbox 360 up on my new hd TV using the HD AV cables, the colors are messed up and are mainly pink and red. It works fine on standard settings, but not in HD. What is the problem and how can I fix this? I tried to adjust the colors myself, but I failed to look right. The cords are connected! I checked several times!

if your son arent mixed, then the sound is TV settings (doubt) or the display setting on your xbox (Last Blade)
